A Memory Involving Sit Ups
For some reason Stanley reminded me that at some time in the 1960s (I think high school), I did 99 sit ups in a physical fitness test.
I had forgotten about this. Stanley said that for some time thereafter my nickname was 99.
As I now recall, we had been told what the achievement percentages were before we began our test. I noticed that doing 99 sit ups gave the same score as doing 100 sit ups and that 100 sit ups was the most you could get credit for. So I decided, "hey why go to the effort of doing that last sit up if it isn't going to count".
