During my time in the noise analysis section, I taught some people to play shafskoft (we also played other card games). We did this during lunch which was, of course the best part of the day. I still play cards every week or so on average but too few shafskoft players are around for a game. Alas.
Once, I overtrumped someone who had already reached for the trick and I used the expression, "get your grubby paws off my trick". People kidded me for years about 'grubby paws'.
Another time, I used, a memo we had received 10 minutes before lunch as a scorecard. The boss came in looking for the memo and I turned over the scorecard and said, "here you are'. That also got some laughs for weeks.

Martin's memories preceding the chronicles, i.e., before 1986. The reason for this blog is to capture old memories that come back to me at seemingly random times. Thus the entries will not be in chronological order. Also, the accuracy of this blog is less than the accuracy in the more contemporaneous blog http://weisschronicles.blogspot.com/
