When all else fails - Read the directions
The "When all else fails, read the directions" was a quote used many times by my father.
I was thinking of it this week. This is because I bought a bookcase and the assembly directions have virtually no words (all pictures).
Actually, I think its better to follow the pictures than 'read the directions' because it seems that the people who end up doing the directions sometimes have their own trade vocabulary or else don't know the variety of English that I claim to use.
