Once in the early 80s, Beth was visiting my office. She was at my boss's work station and was looking at his bowl of candy. Obviously her power of silent requesting worked because the boss offered her a candy. "Do you have any with wrappers?" asked Beth, who apparently had absorbed direction from her mother on the hygiene associated with open products.
I thought of this today while talking with Beth. She told me a story about the going into the teachers lounge at the school where she works. The teachers offered her candy in return for helping to grade student papers - a deal she declined.
